Packaging design is an important part of what we do here at Maven Design. Recently, we partnered with fitness and lifestyle brand, Evertrain, to design the packaging for their first line of workout supplements.
ENVISION verb | en·vi·sion | to imagine as a future possibility; to visualize or picture something in your mind.
What is product envisioning? First, let's start by asking an important question: When you think of the ideal experience of a person using your product or service, what do you see? And how do you share this vision, create actionable next steps, or measure success?
There are two reasons our studio doors are open:
1. It’s over 60 degrees
2. WRKSHP is in session
As we bring 2017 to a close, our team here at Maven Design reflects on the substantial growth, optimistic change, and immeasurable success we have experienced in the last 12 months. With several new hires, a series of new product releases, the relaunching of our website, and the evolution of our creative culture – we could not be prouder to see how far we have come since starting Maven Design in 2015. Numerous products we released this year fell into the active outdoor product design space and packaging design. In addition, our strategic design process for envisioning continues to guide clients by crafting meaningful brand stories and visualizing future experiences. And while we have come a long way since when we first opened our studio, we still have quite the journey ahead of us. There will always be more opportunity for growth and development, yet we have so much to take with us as we make our way into the new year. With 2018 swiftly approaching and with larger pursuits on the horizon, we reflect on yesterday and how this year and years prior continue to set us up for continued success.
Smart Design, a design and innovation consulting firm based in New York recently hosted a cannabis culture ‘makeathon’ in New York for designers, creators, innovators, and strategists to explore opportunities in the growing Cannabis industry. With the guidance from industry coaches, participants formed small teams to develop business strategies and prototypes based on the theme: ‘A New Way of Life for People Dealing with Chronic Pain through Medical Cannabis’. The results were presented at the Smart Design event to a panel of judges, and Justin, our Maven co-founder, and his team came up with winning team concept; which was a service supported by a digital platform. The service would simplify patient access to medical marijuana and help build personalized and meaningful connections between patients and caregivers.
On September 22, we celebrated the launch of Maven Design. We opened up our studio and kicked the evening off with food and drinks in our new space and centered the night around the future of Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR/VR).
For our first blog post, we’d like to introduce a critical part of Maven’s culture: interns. As a startup, we look for design interns that are curious, self-motivated and creative. We set up our culture to ensure that everyone, including our interns, are on the same creative “playing field” and expect our interns to have a unique point of view on the tough challenges we face daily.
